What you got: jeans refashion
For a couple months now I’ve been meaning to attack these jeans/pants.
They’re the kind without a real waistband. Maternity pants. Standard issue.
Especially when a bit too big.
And not so good at staying properly positioned without perpetually sliding.
So I went for it.
Inspired bu this pin on how to turn normal jeans into skinny jeans. I decided I had nothing to lose and tried it.
Of course I didn’t follow the directions… It involved pinning the jeans while wearing them inside out and there was no way this pregnant mama was going to be bending straight over for 20 minutes while trying to pin clothes while attached.
I just traced my current favorite pair of skinny’s. and sewed along the line of pins. Haphazardly. Yes. But guessing and going for it.
I think they turned out quite well!
If I were to do it over I would have made them just a tad looser to accommodate the new seam and give a little more wiggle (or bending) room.
But they’ll do.
When you’re in the last weeks of yur pregnancy and it feels like the rest of your figure is getting away from you, you gotta rock what you got. If that’s the fact that your legs are not shapeless sacks, then so be it.
A fun addition to my dwindling wardrobe :)
Bonus: they don’t slide down nearly as much as before. I’m now thinking of pulling in the hips of more of my maternity pants just to see if that helps them out. Might be worth it. :)
Anyone inspired to skinny their jeans? Or would you rather just make the trip and buy new?
