Running at 39 Weeks
This month of running has been interesting. the stroller ended up with two very flat tires so it spent a week out of commission before we could get back to running condition. It now has no flats, Stan’s installed (a bike tube sealer my husband swears by). seems to be working just great!
As it turns out that running really does affect my mood. I was crazy cranky lady that week. though I didn’t really connect why until I had my stroller back and I was a happy person once more.
I was also especially surprised to find that my body hurt more when I wasn’t running at all than when I was running twice a week. definitely an excellent argument to just keep running! :)
I find strange satisfaction in the way my pace has changed over the year. If you look at the chart above you can see that in January my pace was in the 10s and that it has gradually dropped off to the 14s (shocker!). It means I’m doing my part right and slowing down for this little one.
I didn’t actually get to run anither 5k distance like I wanted to. I just have not been motivated enough to go that far (especially when it would be a 45 minute run!) and it has just been too hot! I’m excited to see the forecast has a few 88 degree days included instead of all in the hot and dry 90s.
I’ve mostly been in a 5min running and 1 min walking pattern. Though today I had to drop it down a bit more and ended up running 5 minutes and then walking about 2 minutes each time. I think it was because I didn’t have the stroller with me to slow me down when I was running.
So my last run went well. 2.1 miles today at a day short of 39 weeks ( written on saturday!)
I’m happy with that :)
